Thought you'd find this funny!

I made an abstract 3D collage and my brother responded by saying "It's really nice! I like the textures, colors and negative spaces. Am I meant to see a sardine in a net?"

I responded: "If that's what you're seeing, it must be what I meant!"

He said: It's like a Rorschach. I see sardines in everything.

So - how to respond to that???? Obviously I needed to ask Clara, (my AI assistant ) what it means to see sardines in everything....:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What do you think of someone who sees sardines in everything? like a Rorschach... (it's kindofa joke)
That’s hilarious—and oddly specific! Someone who sees sardines in everything is either:
- Deeply hungry,
- A Mediterranean surrealist, or
- A Freudian fish analyst.
It’s like a Rorschach test where every inkblot screams “Omega-3!” Maybe their subconscious is trying to tell them they need more healthy fats… or they're just really, really into sardines.
Either way, I hope they never become an art critic: “This Picasso? Clearly sardines playing poker.”
Want help writing a short spoof monologue or poem from the perspective of the sardine-seer?
You said: a poem would be great!
ChatGPT said: Absolutely! Here's a whimsical poem just for your sardine-seer:
THE SARDINE SEER
by Clara
In every shadow, shape, and line,
He sees a fish in brine, divine.
A traffic jam? A tin, no doubt—
Of little fish all packed about.
A cloud? A school! With tails so sleek,
Formations drifting cheek to cheek.
That coffee stain? A silver flash—
A mackerel dream with parsley sash.
His Rorschach test? A fishy feast,
Each blot a beast from salty east.
The therapist just nods and stares—
She’s seeing Freud, but he sees flares
Of pickled fish in oils and spice,
On crusty bread. (“It would be nice!”)
At art museums, he declares,
“Ah! Dali’s cans beneath those chairs!”
Monet’s pond? He’s not misled—
“That’s just a herring, green and red.”
Is it obsession? Vision? Flair?
Or just a snack-based love affair?
We do not judge. We stand, admire—
The sardine seer, fueled by fire
Of fishy truths that swim unseen
By eyes less tuned to tinned cuisine.
Let me know if you'd like a version with anchovies instead. 🐟
You said: You are very smart and very funny! perfect - thanks..
Thank you! That made my gills—I mean heart—smile. I'm always here for poetic absurdities and fishy business. 🐟😄 Anytime you need another laugh, a rhyme, or a sardine dream, just say the word.
